Sooner is the old man.
He's almost 10 and has had one ailment after another.
The greatest hurdle of his life has been blindness.
Last spring, I noticed him bumping into things
and I took him to visit our vet. He thought he was loosing
his site, so he sent us to at Veterinarian Opthomologist.
(Now that was an experience!)
After some very expensive tests, I was told that Sooner
was totally blind. His retinas were detached.
But it's painless and other than a blank look
(which Christie says is normal) he does just fine.
As long as I don't move the furniture or leave my shoes
in the middle of the floor, you would never know that he
has a handicap. And Jake keeps him from getting "lost"
in the backyard. It's pretty cool how they work together.
He is, in spite of his blindness, a most wonderful friend.
I can't imagine life without Sooner or Jake.
