Inspirational Moments
Life is not always easy and it's during these times that we need words of encouragement. And even during those times when life is floating along with great ease, we need words to help us keep our eyes focused on what is important. With this page, I hope to share verses of Scripture, thoughts of encouragement and reflections that will help to ease you through your days...those good ones and those not so good ones. God's blessings to you this day.
During my life, I have found alot of comfort in friends and family....but in the darkest valleys and while standing on the mountain tops, I have found the greatest peace and joy in the Lord. There are so many verses that are favorites, but through it all, I find myself going to the Psalms. Many years ago my pastor at Waurika First, Tommy Billings, preached from Psalm 34. He entitled the sermon "The Teaching Psalm" Now, some 13 years later, I still find myself returning to those pages and to his words I penciled into the margins. As I share this Psalm with you, I will put in ( ) those wonderful insights he shared with us.
I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
My soul will boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together. (to overcome anxiety in our life)
I sought the Lord and he answered me; (God answers prayers)
He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; (God answers prayers)
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them. (God's angels protects us)
Taste and see that the Lord is good; (Trust the Lord, know His goodness)
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
(To overcome anxiety in our life & prove the goodness of the Lord in our life)
Fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear Him lack nothing.
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come, my children,m listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
(Learn God's way. It relieves anxiety),br>
Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from eveil
and your lips from speaking lies.
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pusue it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;(God answers prayers)
the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
He delivers them from all their troubles.(God answers prayers)
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
A righteous man may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all;
He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The Lord redeems his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Beautiful words from an African song....
And He will raise you up on eagle's wings
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
Beautiful words from our Lord....
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 NIV
When my daughter was a teenager, I found this wonderful
little book and gave it to her during a rather trying time.
It is called "Press On" and is just a few short verses with
some wonderful Precious Moments pictures.
I hope it lifts you as it did her and has me on many ocassions.
When all the things we do
to brighten up our world
are tarnished by the unexpected
such as some misunderstanding
or a minor accident,
when our patience starts to vanish
and we won't reach out
because we cannot bear the thought of being hurt,
when circumstances bring us to a halt
and we conclude that Chicken Little's right...
the sky is falling in,
then that's the time to lift our eyes above the circumstances,
accept the unexpected as a guest,
and ask for grace
for each new day
to live with all that God allows,
trusting Him for strength to smile
and just keep pressing on.
"And let us not be weary in well doing,
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Gal. 6:9
